Dear User,

Pursuant to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), hereby we acknowledge that the HEALTHY DIVERSITY Consortium is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Statement applies to collecting information and data from your registration in the e-course platform and with reference to the download of the project resources.

About the project

HEALTHY DIVERSITY is project co-funded by the European Commission within the Erasmus+ Programme (KA2 – Strategic partnership in the field of VET). The project’s implementation lasted for 36 months, starting date: 01.09.2015. closing on: 31.08.2018. The project aims to improve the capacity of health professionals, managers of health service providers and decision-makers in meeting the needs of culturally diverse patient groups, thereby reducing the barriers to accessing services and alleviating the existing forms of discrimination within the health sector.

The specific objectives of the project are:

  • To enhance the intercultural awareness and competences of health professionals working with diverse patient groups
  • To improve the quality of management in health service institutions as to their responsiveness to social, linguistic and cultural diversity
  • To develop methods for the empowerment of patients with diverse needs
  • To offer innovative ICT based training tools to address cultural diversity in the health sector

What personal data we collect and Why

If you choose to participate in the HEALTHY DIVERSITY ONLINE COURSE OR TO DOWNLOAD THE PROJECT RESOURCES, some personal information may be collected about you, such as biographic data, the name of your work organisation, and contact information (i.e. e-mail address).

For the registration we will ask for your name and surname, but they will never be shown or linked with the feedback and evaluation questionnaire responses.

We will not collect and process “sensitive data” (i.e. personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, and genetic data, biometric data for the purpose of uniquely identifying a natural person, data concerning health or data concerning a natural person’s sex life or sexual orientation).

Your consent is compulsory to comply with juridical obligations and EU laws and regulations; refusal to provide personal data will not allow our organisation to offer you our services. We might send you via e-mail newsletters and communications about projects and initiatives related to the healthcare sector . You can exercise you rights at any time and opt out from receiving such communication or choose other communication modalities, pursuant to Article 7 par. 3, and Article 15 of EU Regulation 2016/679.

How we use your information

The various responses and information provided in relation to the HEALTHY DIVERSITY project activities and resources (e.g. pre-course survey, feedback evaluation questionnaire, contributions to the forum discussions) will not be linked to your name or to any contact information that you have provided to the HEALTHY DIVERSITY Consortium. Your responses to surveys and questionnaires will be aggregated with other users’ responses.

We will process and store your data solely for statistical purposes and to carry out social marketing, fundraising and communication activities concerning the services provided by our organisations via email. We will use digital and analogical devices to develop relevant databases, always ensuring appropriate safeguards so as to guarantee ongoing confidentiality, integrity, availability and resilience of processing systems, as set out by EU regulation 2016/679. Only subjects who have obtained access to personal data from the controller or the processor can process such information. Your data will be processed solely within the European Economic Area.

How long will we retain your data

The HEALTHY DIVERSITY Consortium will retain the information obtained by you in accordance with the project’s requirements and the regulations of the project’s sustainability (10 years after the project’s closure date 31.08.2018). Your data will then be deleted.

You can withdraw your consent at any time, and similarly, for the online course you can choose to enroll or stop at any time.

The use of your data by Third parties

Your personal data might be shared with other parties in order to comply with legal obligation and to answer your specific requests. Parties to whom we may disclose your personal data are: law enforcement agencies, judicial authorities, bodies, professionals, corporations, public administration and other entities who perform administrative, accounting and management tasks connected to our regular activities.

We will only use your personal data where we have a legal ground to do so, otherwise your data will not be shared with third parties.

We do not control, and do not accept any responsibility or liability for the privacy policies as to the collection, use or disclosure of your information by any party other than us.

Your rights with regard to the personal data we hold under EU Regulation 2016/679

You can exercise your rights any time, as set out by Article 7, par. 3, and articles 15 and following of EU regulation 2016/679:

  1. right to access personal data
  2. right to rectification and erasure of personal data;
  3. right to restriction of processing;
  4. right to data portability;
  5. right to object to processing of personal data
  6. right to lodge a complaint with Italian Data Protection Authority.
